Dress-ups rule around here. During my oldest daughter's dress-up stage, I traipsed through the grocery store aisles with a princess, a lion, a witch, and a ladybug, but most often Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. She took her Dorothy role very seriously. And we loved every minute of it. The little ones are still in the thick of dress-up time, and quite often I still see a princess pass through the room, followed by her "not scary pet dragon."
Maybe it's because of how much I've enjoyed watching my kids play, I've been admiring Baltimore-based Ellie Bellie Kids. EBK's goal is simple, "to develop products that promote imaginative play." Their tutus, mini messenger bags, capes, and crowns accomplish just that. Every detail is so well thought out, right down to the quick release magnetic clasp on the super-hero cape.
